Spotlight 29 is owned and operated by the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians. Spotlight 29 Casino opened its doors in 1995 to the public under the right of National Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988; stating Native American Tribes have a right to operate Casinos.

At that time, there was 100,000 square feet of space. In 2001, they teamed up with Donald Trump and Spotlight 29 Casino became Trump 29 Casino. In 2006, the casino returned back to Spotlight 29.

In 2009, the casino underwent major renovations starting with a new parking structure that can accommodate 1,200 vehicles. The remodeled inside now includes almost 250,000 square feet for gaming, office space, meeting and conference space, dining and entertainment.

Other new additions include an upgraded poker room, a high limit slot area as well as a new lounge for Platinum Members. The casino has also 2,000 slot machines and table games including Black Jack, Pai Gow and Mini Baccarat. The table game area also features 10 flat screen televisions.
